PDM event partners with British Plastics Federation for 2019

Organisers of the Plastics Design & Moulding (PDM) event have partnered with British Plastics Federation (BPF) for the 2019 edition of the show, which is moving the Manchester Central Convention Complex.

The show will be held 11-12 June 2019 and is expanding to include more about plastics recycling, announced organiser and Plastics News Europe publisher Crain Communications on 3 Oct.

“We are delighted to share in the presentation of PDM in 2019,” said Bruce Margetts, BPF president. “The move to Manchester together with an increased focus on recycling themes provide an excellent platform to relaunch the show”.

According to Margetts, the industry's environmental performance is currently under intense public scrutiny, and forums such as PDM will allow for exchanging experience of best practice within the industry.

“We are very pleased to be partnering with the BPF and moving PDM to the Northern Powerhouse venue of Manchester Central for 2019,” said Matt Barber, sales and events director at Crain Communications.

The partnership with BPF and the move to Manchester, said Barber, are expected to help “broaden the scope and appeal of PDM”, which was previously held in Telford, UK.

Manchester is home to many of the UK’s manufacturing, design and engineering companies, their supply chains and customers.

The free-to-attend PDM event will cover various sectors of the industry, including materials, recycling, machinery, toolmaking, moulding, rapid prototyping and ancillaries.

Additionally, a free-to-attend PDM conference will engage the challenging issues facing the industry including product and packaging design, manufacturing innovation, sustainability and plastics recycling.
