Baby Design Group to launch Polish factory

Polish stroller and car seat producer Baby Design Group is planning to set up a new production facility in Cz?stochowa, in Poland’s southern part, reports local news site Terenyinwestycyjne.info.

The plant will make its output from plastics, metals and other materials, and the Polish manufacturer already announced it will recruit injection moulding machine operators and sewing machine operators.

The investment is estimated to be worth more than PLN 6m (€1.4m).

Under the plan, Baby Design Group is to create close to 50 new jobs at the plant. Production is scheduled to be launched at the factory by the end of 2017.

Marek Pucha?a, the company’s chief executive, said that the planned investment will allow Baby Design Group to shift the firm’s manufacturing activities from China to Poland. To obtain additional funds for the project, the producer has applied to obtain an investment grant from the European Union, according to Pucha?a.

The plant will be located in the Cz?stochowa subzone of the Katowicka special economic zone (KSSE), enabling Baby Design Group to obtain preferential tax treatment.

The investment will be carried out by the company’s subsidiary BDG Produkcja sp. z o.o. The company is based in Poland's capital Warsaw, and has four regional sales offices in Poland, as well as a foreign offshoot in neighbouring Ukraine.

Cz?stochowa is located about 220 km from Warsaw.
