Chen Hsong opts for Mucell integration in new machine

(Published November 2007) Mucell technology developer Trexel announced an agreement with Chen Hsong enabling the Chinese machine builder to integrate the latest Series III MuCell system.

The JM98-Ai/500-MuCell injection moulding machine was running Rhodia’s special Mucell optimised Technyl XCell polyamide on the Trexel stand at K.

It is the first time that moulders have been able to specify a factory-fitted MuCell upgrade on a Chinese manufactured machine and underlines the growing interest in the microcellular moulding technique among Chinese moulders.

“We believe that the availability of a standard upgrade package on Chen Hsong’s injection moulding machine will find wide application as a cost-effective solution used across numerous industries,” said Patrick Tong, Trexel general manager Asia.

According to Stephen Chung, executive director of Chen Hsong, the agreement is intended to make the MuCell process technology available to Chinese moulders in an affordable package. “This partnership is designed to make the MuCell process available to Chinese and other moulders on our cost-effective machines,” he said.

Aside from integration into the new machine, existing Chen Hsong users will also be able to obtain an upgrade to the Series III MuCell technology.
